Disgaea 5 class shaman full#
You can run a full party of generics, or DLC characters, and the story won't change in the slightest.

There's no particular reason to use the "main" story characters, so don't feel like you have to, if you don't like them. It's nearly all just characters from past Disgaea games, or other NIS games, anyways. On the other hand, don't feel like you need to do the DLC/Special Content early the extra classes (Celestial Hostess, Shaman, and Kunoichi) are really good to pick up, since they're basically just an extension of the main game, but everything else is 100% optional, and you won't miss anything by just skipping it. If you feel bad ROFL-stomping everything with them, just equip them with a normal weapon and they'll be back in line. Similarly, don't be afraid to pick up the other DLC/Special Content if it interests you many of the characters seem really strong at first, but that's mainly due to their special starting equipment. It's not as much as it initially seems, and can really help you get off on the right foot. This is a good way to get the class ranks you need to complete the quests, without having to actually use the class itself.ĭon't be afraid to pick up the 1,000,000 HL from the Special Content lady. Most importantly however, you can set a subclass to all of the main characters (and DLC characters, if you decide to get them early), with zero downside. This can be useful for unlocking Evilities (special abililities for characters) outside your base class. When you equip a subclass on someone, all class proficiency gains go to the subclass, rather than the regular class. Here, one of the options you can select is "Set a Subclass". I think the game references "Healer" and "Mage" as well, which refers to the Cleric/Clergy, and the Skull/Witch, respectively.Īlso, the main characters (Killia, Seraphina, Red Magnus, etc.) don't correspond to standard classes early on you'll unlock an NPC who gives you access to a mechanic called the "Dark Assembly". So, a "Rank 2 Fighter" is just a Warrior or Valkyrie at level 2 class proficiency. The rank refers to the "Class Proficiency" rank, which will naturally rise as you kill enemies with those classes. There are no classes with these names exactly instead, "Fighter" refers to either the Warrior, or the Valkyrie classes, while Brawler refers to the Martial Artist and Fight Mistress. For example, I think the quest to unlock the Thief asks you to get a "Rank 2 Fighter" and a "Rank 2 Brawler".
